The cuisine of Umbria is characterised by a distinctly rustic, straightforward and simple vocation, based on such high quality raw materials and basic ingredients that it has achieved great renown even beyond the regional borders. This is the case of the Norcia black truffle, considered among the most prized internationally and beaten at gold weight in the auctions that have always accompanied the sale of this prized species of mushroom. The black truffle has had the merit of acting as a driving force, not only for other types of Umbrian truffles, which are increasingly in demand and appreciated, such as the white Eugubino-Gualdese truffle, but for the entire local food and wine industry.

Day 1 :
Norcia

Arrival in Norcia in the early morning. Hotel accommodation. A day dedicated to a free visit of the city, also admiring the stands set up with food and wine products from the "Nero Norcia" event, in particular the Black Truffle. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Norcia forms a sort of hinge between the imposing Sibillini Mountains and the animated sequence of valleys and plateaus densely dotted with ancient settlements. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Continuation to Castelluccio di Norcia. Free walk in and around the small village of Pian Grande and Pian Perduto. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Afternoon at leisure. End of services.

The fee includes:

  • Overnight stay and half board in the hotel as per the programme;
